If your PC is more than 4 years old this may not be quite as straight forward as you may hope, if indeed financially viable at all. As a very general rule the best option here is often a memory upgrade. If you still require more speed then you may wish to upgrade your microprocessor, this will often mean a new motherboard, memory, heat sink and PSU as well.
